National archive complex

An archive is a building whose contents cannot be replaced. Temperature and humidity are not comfort settings there — they are what determines whether paper and film survive the next fifty years, and a failure that goes unnoticed over a weekend does damage that cannot be undone.

GANI was the electrical and electronic contractor for the complex: low-voltage distribution across the site, building automation and the control panels behind it, and the environmental control that holds the archive halls at their required conditions.

The monitoring and alarm architecture is the part that matters most. In a building like this the control system is judged less by how well it holds a setpoint than by how quickly and unambiguously it says that it no longer can.
