Air spring forming and test press

Forming and testing are usually two machines, and moving a part between them costs handling, floor area and a second setup. For products where the forming step and the test movement use the same axis, that separation is hard to justify.

This press combines controlled forming and test movements in one machine. It descends freely at 10 cm per second, moves at 1 cm per second under pressure where the process needs to be gentle, and rises and descends at 10 cm per second where it does not — position held throughout by an electronic scale.

The electronic scale is what allows one machine to do both jobs: a press that knows exactly where it is can be trusted with a forming stroke and with a measured test movement, instead of being good at one and approximate at the other.
