Semi-automatic block wire insertion machine
Semi-automatic station that fixtures the part and guides the operator through controlled block and wire insertion, with the cycle verified before release.
Division: GANI EngineeringWhat the machine does, and how it is run.
Inserting a block and a wire into a part is a two-second job that goes wrong in a dozen ways: the part is not seated, the wire is short of its seat, the block goes in the wrong way round. None of those are visible once the next component covers them.
This station fixtures the part so it can only be presented one way, then guides the operator through the insertion in a fixed order. The cycle is verified before the part is released, so a station that has not confirmed the insertion does not hand a part on.
It is deliberately semi-automatic. The operator keeps the dexterity a full automation would have to buy at high cost, and the machine keeps the parts of the job that people are bad at: sequence, seating and the decision to let a part through.
