Closing press

Closing a cylindrical product means applying force around its whole circumference at once. Do it in sequence and the part deforms; do it unevenly and the seal leaks. The operation is simple to describe and difficult to repeat by hand.

The press lifts the product to working height on elevator cylinders, then closes it circumferentially with a jaw group. Because both the height and the closing are machine motions, the same geometry is produced part after part rather than depending on how the product was presented.

That repeatability is the deliverable. A closing operation that varies is not a cosmetic problem — it is a leak rate, and a leak rate is a warranty cost that appears months after the parts have shipped.
