Modular industrial network gateway

A plant floor is rarely on one protocol. Machines arrive over twenty years from different builders, each fluent in its own language, and the cost of getting them onto a common infrastructure is usually a cabinet full of single-purpose converters.

This is a modular communication device that brings that equipment onto one IoT infrastructure. Ethernet, serial, USB and Wi-Fi interfaces sit behind a connectivity layer to IoT and cloud services, with remote access and commissioning so a device does not need a visit to be set up.

It was taken to a product rather than left as a prototype: EMC verification and CE productization were completed, which is the step that separates something that works on a bench from something a customer can legally install.
