Lift air spring vulcanization press

Lift air springs are the large-volume type, and the molds that cure them are heavy and awkward. A press sized for small parts can technically hold such a mold; what it cannot do is let a crew change it safely and quickly, which is what actually costs a plant its output.

This press was built around the mold rather than around the part. The frame is sized for large-volume molds, the guarding is industrial but leaves practical access for mold work, and the mechanical layout is arranged for changeover across a product family instead of being optimised for one part number.

The process itself is the usual one — heat and pressure held for the cure — but the machine is designed on the assumption that the customer will run more than one product on it over its life. That assumption is what keeps the press useful when the product mix changes.
