An industrial modem lives in a cabinet for a decade, usually somewhere nobody wants to drive to. It is judged on two things: whether it stays up, and whether it can be reached when it does not.

GANI produces it in series — PCB supply and SMT assembly, the DIN-rail enclosure, the antenna and I/O assembly, and the Ethernet and serial communication hardware — through both SMT and THT electronics production, because a connector that will be pulled on for ten years does not belong on surface mount alone.

Firmware and identity are programmed in production, and every unit goes through a burn-in test before it ships. Burn-in is what catches the infant-mortality failures that would otherwise become a site visit, which for a device installed in the field is the most expensive fault there is.
