Four divisions work under one management and one quality system: engineering of turnkey lines and robot cells, series manufacturing of control panels, harnesses and assemblies, contract manufacturing of complete customer-branded products, and lifecycle service covering spares, repair, retrofit and obsolescence. - **Where is GANI Industrial, and how do deliveries reach the EU?** We are in Nilüfer, Bursa, Türkiye, across three addresses within a few kilometres of each other: headquarters, branch plant and R&D centre. Industrial goods move between Türkiye and the European Union inside the customs union, and trucks leave for Central Europe several times a week, which is why our transit times read like those of a European supplier rather than an overseas one. - **What is contract manufacturing, and what does it include here?** Contract manufacturing means we build your product, to your released design, under your brand. Here it covers sourcing and incoming inspection, mechanical and electromechanical assembly, wiring and harness work, panel and control build, firmware loading, calibration, functional and electrical safety testing, serialization, packing and shipping. The design stays yours; the manufacturing evidence behind it is what we supply. - **What is box build?** Box build is the complete, boxed unit rather than a subassembly: enclosure, mechanics, wiring, electronics, labels, firmware, test and packaging, delivered ready to sell or to install. We take the whole bill of materials, test every unit against your specification and ship it in your packaging with its own test record. - **How long does it take to transfer an existing product to GANI?** For a build-to-print product with a released drawing set, plan on roughly five to nine months from documentation review to series start, depending on variant count, tooling and component lead times. The transfer runs through five gates — documentation and gap review, sourcing, tooling and test systems, first article and pilot batch, then series — and series production only begins after your written approval of the first-article package. - **Who owns the product definition, and how is tooling quoted?** Product definition, drawings, firmware and brand remain your property — always. Non-recurring engineering, tooling, test equipment, setup, material, conversion and logistics are quoted as separate lines rather than buried in the piece price, so you can see what each part of the programme costs and what you are paying for once. - **Do you work under a non-disclosure agreement?** Yes, and we prefer to have one in place before anything is sent. A mutual NDA can be signed the same day, on your paper or ours. Protected projects in our own 3D showcase are opened to a named person after the same step, which is the standard we apply to our customers’ work as well. - **What can you trace after a unit has shipped?** Supplier lot, work order, station and operator, firmware version, measured test values, serial number and shipment are linked in one record. That makes both directions available: from a suspect component lot to every machine that contains it, and from a returned unit back to everything that went into it, including the readings taken on the test station. - **Who answers an enquiry, and in which language?** Engineers answer, not a sales desk — normally within two business days of a complete request. We work in English, German, Spanish and Turkish, and this site is published in English, German and Spanish. A quotation for a defined scope comes with the assumptions it rests on written down. - **What do you need for a quotation?** Drawings or an EPLAN project, a bill of materials and target quantities. With complete documentation our engineering team replies within two business days. - **What volumes fit GANI best?** Recurring series with high mix and low-to-medium volume — from first golden samples to batch-after-batch production under a frame agreement. - **Which standards do you build to?** Panels are built and routine-tested to IEC 61439 and UL 508A practice. Our management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. - **Can we audit you before transferring a product?** Yes — supplier audits and plant tours in Bursa are welcome, by appointment through our contact page. - **How does the scope grow over time?** Step by step, at your pace: typically from a control panel to harness sets to complete, tested equipment — consolidating suppliers only as fast as we earn it. - **What happens after delivery?** GANI Lifecycle supplies serialized spares, repairs with test-report proof, retrofits and managed end-of-life — starting from the build record of every unit. - **Can you improve our production without selling us a new machine?** Yes. Process engineering is sold on its own: bottleneck and cycle-time analysis, line balancing, OEE improvement, changeover optimization. We do not need to build a new machine to improve the system you already own. - **What does "turnkey" mean at GANI?** One contract, one responsible team: concept, electrical design, PLC and robotics software, build, FAT at our site, SAT and commissioning at yours, and documentation at handover. - **Can you modernize an existing machine instead of replacing it?** Yes — retrofit is a core service. If the mechanics are sound, we renew controls, safety and drives to current standards, planned around your production calendar. - **How does an automation project start?** With your process description or specification. We respond with a technical concept and a quotation; engineering begins after alignment on scope. - **What do you need from us for a quotation?** Your documentation as it exists today: schematics (EPLAN, PDF or DWG), a BOM, mechanical data if relevant, applicable standards and target quantities. An NDA is available on request. - **What is a golden sample?** The first unit built and approved during industrialization. It freezes the reference standard — every later unit in series is built and tested against it. - **Do you build to our standards or yours?** Yours. Your drawing standards, labeling rules and applicable norms govern the build; our quality system governs how we prove conformity — routine tests, serialization and unit test records. - **What does 100% testing mean in practice?** Every unit — not a sample — passes a functional test before dispatch. Results are recorded against the serial number, so any unit can be traced from component lot to test record. - **What is a GANI standardized product?** A control unit or module engineered once by GANI and then built in series — with the same serialization, testing and documentation discipline as our contract manufacturing. - **Can GANI develop a product for our company?** Yes. From specification to tested units: we engineer, industrialize and produce OEM products, and support them across their lifecycle. - **Who supports the product after launch?** GANI Lifecycle — spares from the production record, repairs with test-report proof, and managed end-of-life including last-time-buy planning. - **Which systems do you service?** Systems GANI built, and existing machines we modernize through retrofit. Serialized production records let us supply exact spares and repeat factory tests on repairs. - **What is last-time-buy planning?** When a component reaches end-of-life, we plan the final purchase quantity with you, qualify substitutes where possible, and manage the transition so your production does not stop. - **How are repairs documented?** Every repair leaves with a test report proving function — the same test discipline as new production, recorded against the unit serial number. - **What batch sizes make sense for you?** High-mix work in batches of tens to a few hundred panels, repeating through the year. Below that, the industrialization cost rarely pays back; far above it, a dedicated line usually beats us. - **Do you buy the components or do we?** Either. Most programs are hybrid: you direct the critical components, we source the rest against your approved list and carry the lead times. - **What happens when a revision changes?** The change is quoted, released and made effective from an agreed serial number or date. Nothing changes in the build without an approved revision — and no deviation is absorbed quietly. - **Can you deliver to our assembly takt?** Yes. Recurring families run on a frame agreement with rolling call-offs, and panels are released to your programme rather than stockpiled. - **Our harness documentation is thin. Is that a problem?** It is the normal starting point. We back-document what exists into a releasable set during industrialization, so the series starts from what actually works rather than from an old drawing. - **Do you handle directed-buy connectors?** Yes. Directed-buy parts are received, inspected, stored and accounted for per work order, and the rest of the BOM is sourced against your approved list. - **How do you prove a crimp is good?** Crimp tooling is verified periodically, and continuity plus pull-off checks are recorded against the work order. If a program needs cross-sections, we agree the frequency in advance. - **Can you take over an assembly from another supplier?** That is a product transfer, and it has its own process — gap analysis, supplier mapping, pilot batch and a stock bridge so your shelf never runs dry. - **Do you make PCBs and plastics yourselves?** No, and we say so. Injection molding and PCBA run at qualified partners under GANI engineering, incoming inspection and one quality system — one program responsibility, but no claim to a machine we do not own. - **Who owns the product?** You do. Definition, drawings, firmware and brand stay yours; tooling ownership is named in the quotation, and nothing is shown as a reference without written permission. - **Can you take over a product already in production?** Yes — that is a product transfer, with gap analysis, supplier mapping, a pilot batch, first-article approval and a stock bridge planned before the first pilot unit is built. - **What volumes fit?** A few hundred to several thousand units a year, in recurring releases. High-mix work with engineering content is where we are worth the money; commodity mass volume is not our game. ## Glossary https://ganiindustrial.com/glossary - **Contract manufacturing** (CM, EMS when the content is purely electronic): Manufacturing a product to a customer’s released design, under the customer’s brand. The design, the specification and the market stay with the customer; the manufacturer owns the process, the supply chain and the evidence that each unit was built and tested correctly. - **Build to print**: Manufacturing exactly what a released drawing and bill of materials describe, with no design freedom. Changes need a formal deviation or an engineering change from the owner of the drawing, which is what separates build to print from design-and-build. - **Box build** (systems integration): The complete, boxed unit rather than a subassembly: enclosure, mechanics, wiring, electronics, labelling, firmware, test and packaging, delivered ready to sell or install. The scope is defined by what is inside the box, not by how many operations it took. - **Product transfer** (NPI when the product is new): Moving the manufacture of an existing product from one plant to another without changing the product. It runs through gates — documentation review, sourcing, tooling and test, first article and pilot batch, then series — each with a written exit criterion. - **Control panel** (switchgear assembly, Schaltschrank): The enclosure that holds the protection, control and drive equipment of a machine or plant, wired and tested as an assembly. In Europe the relevant product standard for low-voltage assemblies is IEC 61439; the machine’s own electrical equipment is covered by IEC 60204-1. - **IEC 61439**: The standard for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies. It splits responsibility between the original manufacturer, who verifies the design, and the assembly manufacturer, who builds to it and performs the routine verification on every assembly produced. - **UL 508A**: The North American standard for industrial control panels. A panel built to it carries a short-circuit current rating and is wired, protected and marked to rules that differ from European practice, which is why a panel for both markets is designed for both from the start. - **Routine test** (routine verification, Stückprüfung): The test every single unit receives before it ships, as opposed to a type test performed once on a design. For a panel it covers wiring and function, protective bonding continuity and dielectric properties; the measured values belong in the unit’s own record. - **Cable harness** (loom, wiring harness): A set of wires, terminals and connectors assembled to a defined geometry so that it fits one machine and one route through it. Harness quality is decided by crimp control and documentation, not by the wire. - **EPLAN**: The electrical CAE system most European machine builders document in. Used properly it is the single source of truth: the schematic, the device list, the terminal and cable plans and the panel layout come from one project, so a change cannot appear in one document and not another. - **First article inspection** (FAI): A full dimensional and functional check of the first unit produced with production tooling and the production process, reported characteristic by characteristic against the drawing. Series production starts after the customer approves that report, not before. - **Golden sample**: An approved physical reference unit, kept to settle later disagreements about what “correct” looks like. It freezes appearance and workmanship judgements that a drawing cannot express, and it is only useful if what it freezes is written down beside it. - **Pilot batch**: A small production run made under series conditions — same fixtures, same operators, same test station — to prove the process rather than the product. Its purpose is to expose what only appears at quantity: feeding, handling, takt and the yield of the test. - **FAT and SAT** (factory and site acceptance test): The acceptance test at the builder’s works, and the one repeated at the customer’s site after installation. A FAT proves the machine against its specification with agreed parts; a SAT proves it in its real surroundings, with the utilities and the material it will actually run on. - **NRE** (non-recurring engineering): The one-off engineering and setup cost of starting a programme: process design, fixtures, test development, documentation and qualification. Quoted as its own line so that it is not hidden in the piece price and amortised invisibly over a volume that may not happen. - **MOQ and batch size**: The minimum order quantity a price is valid for, and the quantity actually produced in one run. They are different numbers: batch size is driven by setup time and component packaging, MOQ by what makes a price honest. - **Material liability**: The agreed exposure a manufacturer carries for material bought against a customer forecast. It states which horizon is firm, which is committed material, and who pays for stock and long-lead components if the forecast changes. - **Directed buy**: A component the customer nominates and whose price and source they control, purchased by the manufacturer. The manufacturer owns delivery and inspection of it but not its commercial terms, which is why responsibility for shortage and for quality has to be written down separately. - **Last-time buy** (LTB): The final purchase of a component before its manufacturer stops making it, sized to cover remaining production and spares demand. Its quantity is a forecast question, not a purchasing one, and getting it wrong is expensive in both directions. - **Obsolescence management**: Watching the lifecycle status of the components inside a running product so that an end-of-life notice arrives as a plan rather than as a surprise. It is a calendar activity, run on a bill of materials, long before a part actually disappears. - **Retrofit**: Replacing the control, drive or safety equipment of an existing machine while keeping its mechanics. It buys years of service life for a fraction of a new machine, and its real difficulty is doing it inside the shutdown window the plant can afford. - **Takt time and cycle time**: Takt is what demand asks for: available time divided by parts needed. Cycle time is what a station or a line actually takes. A line runs at the cycle time of its slowest station plus its transfer, which is rarely the number in the specification. - **OEE** (overall equipment effectiveness): Availability multiplied by performance multiplied by quality, as a single ratio of what a machine produced to what it could have produced. Useful as a trend on one machine; misleading when compared between plants that count their losses differently. - **Serial traceability**: Linking a unit’s serial number to its component lots, work order, stations, operators, firmware version and measured test values. The test is whether both directions work: from a suspect lot to the units that contain it, and from a returned unit back to everything in it. ## Company and contact - [Answers](https://ganiindustrial.com/answers) - [Glossary](https://ganiindustrial.com/glossary) - [Company](https://ganiindustrial.com/company) - [Quality](https://ganiindustrial.com/quality) - [Facility](https://ganiindustrial.com/facility) - [Locations](https://ganiindustrial.com/locations) - [Sustainability](https://ganiindustrial.com/sustainability) - [Careers](https://ganiindustrial.com/careers) - [News](https://ganiindustrial.com/news) - [Request for quotation](https://ganiindustrial.com/contact/rfq) - [Contact](https://ganiindustrial.com/contact) - [Imprint](https://ganiindustrial.com/legal/imprint) - [Privacy](https://ganiindustrial.com/legal/privacy) ## Full text - [llms-full.txt](https://ganiindustrial.com/llms-full.txt): Every article on this site in one plain-text file - [sitemap.xml](https://ganiindustrial.com/sitemap.xml) - [feed.xml](https://ganiindustrial.com/feed.xml): the articles as RSS - Markdown twin of any content page: the page URL with /md in front and .md at the end, e.g. https://ganiindustrial.com/md/insights/where-cycle-time-actually-goes.md
